Spring Is Coming...

It's the BEST time of year! I absolutely love spring and everything it brings!

One of my favorite holidays happens to be Easter, and to have an entire month of spring to celebrate makes me so happy! My mother-in-law happens to have her birthday the end of March, and of course I "had" to plan a craft for all of us to do.

Tom and Margaret came over to our house for dinner and our "Easter-Inspired" craft!

Being outside is one of my favorite parts of spring as well. My cousin from Arizona is staying with my mom because he's trying out for the Ogden Semi-Pro Soccer team. Carter has been super excited to "play soccer" with him all week! Beus Park is one of my favorite places to take the boys, Carter loves it too.....
Brax was introduced to the glories of riding your bike in the park...
Thanksgiving Point is one of my favorite places to take the boys, and I got an AMAZING deal on a family pass there this year! My "barn only" pass got upgraded for FREE!
Super fun this year with both of them being to independent...
Gotta love tractors and seeds....
Carter loves the horses, and as much I thought Brax would like them too, he really didn't...so we watched big brother....So fun! LOVE this month and all it's bringing with it!

St. Patrick's Day 2011...

St. Patrick's Day has always been widely celebrated in my house growing up...now that I'm a mom, I truly get how fun it is! Having both boys be so independent and able to do so much...I really had to step up my game this year.

Carter made a leprechaun catcher at preschool, and showed it off to Brax as soon as he got home. While the big boy was school, the little man and I got to work on our "Green Surprise!"
My mom got me the giant cupcake mold for Christmas...and I've been waiting for a great excuse to try it out.
This is my masterpiece (can you see why I don't decorate cakes for a living?)
I wanted to make this extra special, so we "hid" gold frosting in the middle. When Carter got home I told him all about leprechauns and finding gold....when I cut into the cake this is what we found....GOLD!
Carter thought it was pretty cool! I have to say, for only using what I had on hand...it all turned out great!
For dinner we're having leprechaun sized pasta....
They're mini stars...it's super cute and very quick!
I hope everyone is having a great St. Patrick's Day!

Growing Up...

Growing up is something that our boys are doing so quickly right now! It's fun, exciting and still a little sad to see some qualities change because neither one of them is little anymore.

I've known for a little while that Brax needs to be in an actual bed, but I couldn't make up my mind what we were going to do. Then one day...lightbulb! His crib is a convertible one, so it turns into a full size bed, this is technically a FREE bed...and we need is the mattress.

So off to the store we went, did anyone know that going from a twin to a full is only a $15 difference? Seriously?!?

Here is what the little guy's room looked like...

And now this is what the little one gets to sleep in...He actually did really well! He got Carter's twin bed, and took his first nap with NO ISSUES! He just layed right down and fell asleep. Tonight wasn't different, he's such a cute little guy! And now he's big in his REAL bed.

Carter got upgraded to a full bed, because of the crib situation...and all I have to say is...AWESOME!We went to store and found bedding for $17 that he LOVES! We made it a party when the mattress arrived and he had such a great time playing in it. He even had a specific side for Ellie the Elephant to sleep on. :) Precious!

One thing I've been doing with Carter is putting his crafts, school pictures and projects up on his wall. I've been calling it his "Wall of Greatness" and I have to say it's really special. Carter loves that he can display his things, I love that it's not all crammed on the fridge and it really lets him know how proud we are of him! I want to frame the half of the wall and have a different paint color inside to highlight everything. Until then, glue dots and mini nails are my best friend!

Fun times....

We've been very busy lately, making sure to to super fun things! I've made it a priority for our family to make sure FUN is a crucial part of our lives. (It's so easy to let the little things get in the way)

Scott went on a campout with the Elder's Quorum on friday night and had a blast! This is the first time in almost 5 years that he's gone somewhere with friends! When he came back this afternoon, it was off to Ikea and Cabelas for the Morris Fam of four.
We were lucky enough to plan it at a time when Aunt Ju Ju could join us!
We had treats, all kinds of music and some fun stops along the way!I didn't get any pics at Ikea, but I did take some time at Cabelas.
The boys had so much fun...
I just love these two! Scott and I have been having fun seeing the differences between them....because there's a TON of them!
We also got the treat to meet my friend Ashley and her kids at FatCats this week as well. My sister had the day off of school then too...so of course she came!
One of the huge perks of me working there is the FREE activities we get to do. We did bumper cars...
Glow Golf...Pirate style...
And also bowled, but it was enough to keep the kids out of trouble so I didn't get any pictures.
Here's to FUN!!

Updates....it's been awhile...

It seems like life gets away from me more and more lately. We've been in a steady routine for our family, not that it's really steady ever for us. But for the Morris Family, we've been accomplishing the things that we've wanted to over the past few weeks.

I've been spending more time hanging out with my friends, and the boys get to see their friends more because of this. I've always been the type of mom to put my boys first...even to the point of being harmful to me because I NEVER seem to get a break. Once I started back to work, I took it upon myself to still do everything that I was while at home, but added full time work to it....this can really take its toll. So, to help with this I've made it a priority to have more fun doing things that I truly enjoy...like being with my friends.
I've been neglecting my sisterly duties as well...so when I found out that my little sis was going to a dance...I couldn't have spent my night any other way than helping get her ready! And what a cute girl she cleans up to be!

Carter has been growing up so fast! He is becoming smarter by the day..I swear one day that boy is going to be smarter than Scott and I put together! He LOVES his preschool, has begun reading short books and writes so well now. (He's a lefty so I totally cut him slack) I have been having so much fun exploring things with him lately, we've even been able to go out just the two of us. (This is something I would highly recommend to any mom of multiple kids)
One big change that Carter is making, is his NEW BED! This little guy is getting his very own full-size bed delivered tomorrow! Braxton needs to be out of his crib (he's 19 months!) so Brax will get Carter's twin bed right now, and Carter will get a full size bed that's actually the crib! It's one of those convertible cribs, so it's now evolving with our fam!
I just love my little man...and can't wait to see what the future holds for him!

Braxton is such a unique child! This little boy knows what he wants and will do what it takes to get it. He is such a happy and chill boy...until you tell him "no." He's been climbing on everything, imitating EVERYTHING you do, and learning to work the remote control all by himself.

He's becoming a big boy more and more each day too! It's time to move him into a real bed (seriously he's way to old to be in a crib anymore) so this weekend he'll get a twin bed (from his big brother) and hopefully learn to stay....we'll see.

He's also made headway in the binkie department! That's right folks I can FINALLY throw away the pacifiers FOREVER!!!!!! This is a picture you won't see again...

There will be plenty to post about once the new bed arrives and the furniture get moved around, yet again. (I just can't make up my mind!) So stay tuned....

Kangaroo Zoo....

Ash and I took the kids to Kangaroo Zoo the other day...and had a blast!
I'm finally getting my schedule back to normal and going out with the boys is just what I needed! I love taking them places and letting them explore the world.
The boys absolutely loved it!
Hunter and Carter were so facinated by everything...and Brax and Brin would play together on the smaller bounce things. Perfect fit!
They all took a break and had slushies. Each kids chose a different flavor...how fun!
Braxton had such a great time...this will be something that we do more often.
Thanks guys for such a great afternoon!

Braxton's Girlfriend Turns 2!

Brinley Davis turned 2! This sweet little girl is going to marry our Brax. Ashley and I already have it arranged. :)
We went to her birthday party last week...and it was a blast! My favortie part of the party was the barbie cake Ashley made. She is such a great mom and makes the birthday cakes for her kids every year.
Carter and Brax got her a color on playhouse. It's cardboard that you color and then it builds into a playhouse. The kids had such a great time!
Brinley loved playing in it!
Braxton and Brinlel playing house....better get some practice in before the marriage right?
The cupcakes were adorable! Braxton absolutely loved the icing! And sweet Brin wanted cheese....priceless!
It was such a fun party...and our kids just love eachother!

Family Time...

Lately, Scott and I have been spending a ton of time doing some fun things with the boys. Both of us have been so busy with work, church callings and keeping up the house.
One of my favorite things that Scott does is read books to the boys every night. Carter has always been interested in books. We usually read about 5 books a night, and now we've introduced our tradition to Brax. (Though B is still youg to sit through al of the books, he has a great time!)
I've always had the goal to decorate well for every holiday. I'm really good at the bug holidays, but the smaller ones like Valentine's Day have always been hard for me. So, this year I went browsing the DI and found some awesome additions for our Valentine's Day display...
While Carter was at school yesterday, Brax and I made some pink strawberry rice crispie treats! I had to do some work last weekend in our Ogden facility, so Scott and the boys came with me. They got to play while I got to work. (Not 100% fair, but that's how it goes) Carter loves the bumper cars!
Brax only gets to go when it's only Scott and Carter on the bumper cars. He's really not supposed to go because he's too small, but with just being our little fam, they have a great time.
So fun!

Record....

My mom told me about this really cute idea with records. Braxton's 2nd birthday party will be "music themed" and we all know my mom and I start planning these huge events way in advance.
I went to Savers today and found some records for under $1....I'm sure the people there wondered what I was doing with a dance music record.

You take your record and put it on an upside-down mixing bowl. I put everything on a cookie sheet and in the oven on low for about 10 minutes.
Once the vinyl is soft, take it out of the oven and flip the bowl right-side up. Put the softened record in the bowl, pushing down the sides.
Let it cool for about 5 minutes and here ya go!
Such a fun bowl, only $1 and seriously is going to be a hit at the party!

Valentine's Events....

February is one of my favorite months...for one big reason Valentine's Day. Really I celebrate this holiday all month long with my three boys (Scott included)
We do lots of "heart," "red," and "loving" things throughout the month....stay posted!
Tonight, we had our Family Movie Night and ate heart-shaped quesadillas (and our favorite french bread) while we all watched our family movie.
I scored some FREE Krispie Kreme Valentine coupons...so Scott and I took the boys there for their free doughnuts. I haven't been to here in about 8 years, but I have to say it was a really fun activity for us to do with the boys. Brax and Carter had such a great time watching how the doughnuts were made and the process they go through.

The end result was SWEET....
This was Brax's very first Krispie Kreme doughnut....pretty sure he LOVED it!
This week we also made Carter's Valentine's to give out at school....this holiday tradition has grown to become something HUGE in our home! IT's really cut-throat out there when it comes to what your kid is giving for Valentine's.
This year we made these adorable bags that said, "You're the cutest friend on the 'block' I 'donut" lie.
Carter decorated these foam blocks with all sorts of things...
And then every bag got a free donut coupon as well....super cute!
Like I said before, keep checking back for more!
