Livin' on the Farm...

Carter's class has been focusing on Life Circles last month and this month. For that, they had eggs in an incubator that they monitored and watched hatch! So fun. (They're very "all natural" and focus on life skills as well as education)
I'm not going to lie, Carter's been struggling with the full-time transition, and I don't blame the little guy. It's hard to work as many hours as both Scott and I do, and I know it's hard on the boys to be in "daycare" full-time too. But it's for the greater good, so we'll keep moving forward.
Well, it's been a fight to get the little man to go to school everyday, once he's there he truly has a great time and has so many friends.....but getting him there takes all I have not to go insane.
Ever since the eggs hatched into chicks, Carter's been excited to go to school and doesn't fight me at all.
That's how it all began....he learned real fast that if you wear mom down to nothing, then you can pretty much get anything you want from her. :)
Meet our newest additions...
That's right folks, chicks! We are now proud parents of chickens! I NEVER thought the day would come (I'm so not "farmer-ish") But here we are, and to my surprise I really love the little things.
They are super friendly with the boys and love being held. Carter and Brax love watching them and playing with them.
I'm excited to see how fast they grow....

Tulip Festival...

Ashley and I got year memberships to Thanksgiving Point this year...and that of course meant that we needed to go to the Tulip Festival. I've always wanted to go, but it's been too expensive to justify going. This year, I was all about it!

The kids had a BLAST!

Braxton and Brinley were so cute holding hands! I don't think my voice could have been any higher when I was calling Ashley to look at our kids...

Look at how cute these two are....
The boys were so fun! They had a great time running around and exploring!

We went to the Farm afterwards. My boys and Brin didn't want to ride the horse, so here's the three of them watching Hunter in the background! It was a perfect day, nice and warm but not hot. The wind was slight and I got a little color! Prefect!!

Easter...

The Easter festivities came so quickly this year! I have always loved celebrating Easter, decorating with everything "spring" and of course Jelly Beans!

This year I really wanted to show the boys the science behind dying the eggs...so out came the colors and hard boiled eggs. We talked about mixing colors, vinegar making the colors brighter and how the hard boiled egg works better than a raw one. I think we did pretty well!

Scott and I filled over 50 eggs on Friday night and filled the boys' Easter baskets. We wanted to celebrate the "bunny" part on Saturday. So here's what the boys woke up to on Saturday morning...

We had a "practice" egg hunt so that the boys were ready for the real thing. Carter was actually very good at making sure Braxton had the same amount of eggs that he did.

So cute!
The Hill AFB Egg Hunt is by far my favorite! I try to go there every year...and this year surpassed all others! We got there a little early, so the boys had a perfect chance to meet the Easter Bunny. They had TONS of eggs for the kids, and the parents got boxes of chocolates and celestial tea boxes. It was AWESOME!
We went to my dad's that evening and decorated the most adorable cupcakes ever!

They look like pots!

On Sunday we woke up late, hung out as a family and talked to the boys about Jesus' Resurrection. I had some fun things planned for Primary that I used with our boys. It was really fun to see how much Carter really picked up on. (His preschool is at a Lutheran church, so he really knew a ton about Jesus' death and how he rose 3 days later)

After church, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Morris' house. The boys got kites, and it was a perfect day to fly them! Carter had a blast running up and down the sidewalk...
What an amazing weekend. Between the fun activities, family time and hope for better weather...it couldn't have gotten any better.

I'm truly grateful for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I'm amazed at how much Scott and I have in our lives, we are thankful everyday for our many blessings.
