Second Trunk or Treat....

I worked with a lady named Karen for almost two years...funny thing is she's actually related to the Morris'! It's crazy hwo small the world really is. So we've made it a tradition to go to her ward trunk or treat every year now...this is the second time we've gone...and man do they put on a good show!
Here is my Pirate Carter and Pea in the Pod Brax...

Braxton has been having fun in the new excersaucer, but Carter has of course needed to get in on the action too!
To kick off our Halloween weekend, Carter and I carved our pumpkins yesterday! They're out on the front step for all to see our "handy work!"
We have so many things going on today so keep checking for more posts...

Catch Up...

So it's been busy, hectic and everyone is getting a little cold around our house....so today I thought I'd catch up on blogging.
Lately it's been one thing after another. It seems like everyday we have a million things going on. And because I use the blog as a way to keep track of our lives, here are some of the things we're currently involved in:
1. I am the CubMaster Assistant (totally loving it too) We have 19 boys in our pack!
2. I am going to start watching a little 6 week old girl while both her parents work.
3. Scott got called to help out with the Boy Scouts. I got to watch my first-ever "Set Apart" Meeting.
4. It's our first Halloween as a family of 4.
5. We're winterizing our yard, patio and garage.
6. I have been going through everyone's clothes, putting away the summer things and breaking out the winter things.
7. I am 18 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight....this is something I work on about 4 times a week.
8. Braxton is going to start eating baby food soon, so I've been making some for him and putting it up for when he's ready. (I'm big on natural foods, so anything from scratch is the way to go)
9. We're getting ready to move Brax into his own room now...I'm just not sure if I'm ready for that or not.
Pretty much we're crazy busy...and it seems like things will only get crazier by the day!
So enjoy my many posts! We will have so many more by the end of this weekend...so keep checking back.

Brax is Growing Up So Fast....

Our sweet little Braxton is getting so big already! It feels like he's awlays been in our family, but at the same time it's hard to believe that he's already over 3 months old!
He's such a chill little kid, what a change from the infant Carter was. He loves to lay on the ground and kick his legs, he always tries to eat his fists, and he smailes ALL the time!
Now that he's getting bigger, the little boy wants to be independent so badly. He tries to crawl already when he's on his belly, so what do you do for your little one when they want more freedom? That's right...break out the excersaucer!

He can't get enough of this thing! He loves to be all by himself playing with the toys on the tray. He's the perfect addition to our family!

Preschool Halloween Party...

Carter had his first-ever preschool Halloween Party on Wednesday. (Of course his best friend Hunter was there too to share in the fun!) This is his whole class all dressed up. Carter absolutely adores his teacher Miss Hill, and the kids really do listen to her really well.
They had a bunch of activities for the kids to do including a Number Walk. Of course they made it educational...and to my surprise Carter was recognizing a ton of numbers! The really cute thing was that they won candy for the whole class to share!
They also did "pin the Face on the Jack-o-Lantern" It was really funny to watch and the cute friends had to sit next to eachother! So cute! (they did face painting, but I didn't get any pictures of that, but this shows their cheeks.)
Here's Carter trying to put the things on the Jack-o-Lantern!
Here's the boys getting ready for the Parade!
It was such a fun day...I'm so glad Carter gets to experience things like this!

Cousin Tanner's Birthday Party!

My cute Nephew Tanner, turned two last week. I can't believe how much he's grown! We all went over to their place for a party fit for a Fire Chief!
My sweet Brax bounced away in the "bouncer-thing" for awhile! What a cute kid...
Here's the cute cousins eating their dinner! Notice Hunter is the only one posing!
Carter LOVED the hats!
It was so much fun! Tanner is the sweetest boy, he's so happy and loves to play! It was so great to watch him play with his new toys...

Trunk or Treat....

About a week ago, Hunter and Brinley invited Braxton and Carter to go to their Trunk or Treat. (I've been completely slacking in the posting part of my life)
It was so much fun, they had a carnival first, dinner for everyone and then ended with a Trunk or Treat.
My sweet Brax was a Pea in the Pod and actually liked being in the costume!
Carter totally gets the whole "trick or treating" thing this year! He has to say "trunk" or treat... not "trick" or treat because he knows that it's different. It's so fun watching him grow up, understand things more and just enjoy experiencing things in life.
Here's my cute Pirate...
Here's cute Spider Hunter and Pirate Carter looking for the next "trunk" to hit up for more candy...(try getting 2 three year olds to wear their hats...)
This is the "cookie walk" they had...and I have admit...such a fun idea! The boys loved it!
Here's the whole gang....after the trunk or treat was over. Carter and Hunter were checking out the stash of candy they scored while Brax and Brin really just wanted to explore.
It was such a fun night...I'm so glad they invited us!

Frightmares...

Ashley and I won tickets to Frightmares a couple weeks ago and last weekend decided to take our families there (minus the little ones...Brax and Brin)
Carter and Hunter had so much fun...I'm so glad we all went together because the rides that were only for kids...both Carter and Hunter rode together. It was perfect!
Here's the cute boys on the airplane (red is Carter's favorite color so he was LOVING this ride!) And of course both boys were more interested in the plane than looking at me for a picture.
Here's the cute little men again driving the car!
Here's our fam...with an added witch!
I had so much fun watching Carter's expressions as he went on the different rides...he was so much more brave than I thought he would be!
We're so proud of you Carter!
The boys actually did a great job waiting in line...though it is hard to wait when you're three! This was the line for Puff...and Ash and I got the boys occupied climbing the fence while we were waiting in line.
It was such a fun night! Scott and Devan got to ride some of the "scary" rides while Ash and I watched the boys enjoy the kiddie rides together, it was nice to not have the stroller or diaper bag or Braxton (sorry sweet babe, but you wouldn't have had any fun there)
Overall it was a great time, I'm so glad we won tickets (kudos to her mom and stepdad for the tip on how!) Scott and I wouldn't have gone had we not had the free tickets. This will definitely be a place to experience next summer!

Carter's 3 Birthday Party!

Carter had his third birthday party this past weekend...and all I can say is...SUCCESS!!!! It was so much fun! The kids played with blocks, huge legos, ran around the church gym and just had a good time together. I plan these parties almost 6 months in advance, so to actually have this party go better than planned was a shock to even me! Carter's theme this year was CONSTRUCTION. Here's the AMAZING cake my mom made....
I had aprons, hats and goggles for the kids to wear...but of course they didn't seem as thrilled by them as I was....so this is who ended up wearing them....
I made tool shaped cookies for the kids to ice. The cousins had a great time doing that. There were hammers, screw drivers and saws to choose from....the favortie part was the squeeze bottles filled with icing.
The kids absolutely LOVED the horns that they could blow! The gym made it echo, so of course they kept going! Although after awhile it did get a little crazy, those are the memories that these kids are going to take away from this party....LOVE IT!
Poor Halle was the ONLY girl out of the whole bunch (except for Brinley and Annie who can't move yet) but this little girl held her own. She played with the boys so well and LOVED the cookie decorating table. Way to represent the girls Halle!
This is Carter's best friend Hunter. THe funniest thing about this picture is that his mom tried tog et him to smile for awhile...all I did was ask...and the funny boy grinned perfectly! I just love this little boy!
My mom and I made this cut out for the boys to take their pictures in! It was a hit...here's cute cousin Hunter posing...
The clean up was probably Carter's favorite part....Grandpa Steve let him ride the broom...
It was such a fun party I'm so glad everyone had a great time. I know from now on it's all about the church gym! Growing up my mom always had us choose a theme for our parties and she took it and ran....she did so many amazing things for each of our birthdays and to this day I remember almost all of them. Though my parties are always a lot of planning and preparing...I know that Carter will look back and really appreciate the work that went into this party.

Boys will be Boys!

Carter and Braxton take a bath every night with eachother, and then Scott and I "double team" them and each of us takes a boy to get in their jammies. Well, the other night after we were done and ready to put them to bed, the two sweet brothers just stayed there laying next to eachother. (don't mind Brax's weird look, he's not all the way used to the flash)
Here's another shot of them in matching PJs. It's so funny to me how DIFFERENT they look!
Carter had a Birthday celebration at his preschool last week and afterwards his best buddy Hunter came over to hang out. They each picked their favorite color popcicle and we headed outside for some more fun! Here's our PURPLE and RED little dudes.
Here's a pic of Carter in his "Birthday Boy" shirt he wore to school that day!
Such a fun day! He made cheerio bracelets, read his Birthday Book, got a balloon and a candy lei, and the kid also got to hang with his best friend ALL day! Who could ask for a better day right?

Zoo Fun!

Scott had Monday off...gotta love Columbus right?!? So we decided to take advantage of the last weekday he'll have off until Thanksgiving by taking the boys to the Zoo.
I've wanted to go to the zoo forever now because they have a new baby elephant (and for those that don't know Carter is OBSESSED with his "Ellie" and I thought it would be cool for him to see a real elephant) It was a really nice day too. For Braxton's first time at the Zoo I'd have to say it was well worth the trip!
Here are the two little guys on the Merry Go Round!
Carter's favorite part was the playground.
Cute Brax just loved being outdoors and listening to all the weird animal noises.
I love having two boys...
Don't all three of them just look THRILLED to take this picture?!?
Overall, it was a great day spent with just our family.

A Family of Four....

Braxton is 3 months old! Our sweet little boy is such an amazing addition to our family...he's so "chill" and laid-back I LOVE HIM!!!
Becoming a family of four has brought a sense of completness to our family. There's something about having two brothers too...it's so fun having both boys in our family. The second we had Brax, things changed for our little fam of 3. And I have to say, I wouldn't have it any other way...
Our little man is growing so fast! He's now 100% on bottles (I never nurse very long) and it's a good thing. He drinks his formula so fast that the pediatrician has put him on rice cereal in the formula too. (She says he's going to be one of those babies that eats food early and lots of it!) It's such a great change to have a healthy growing boy (Carter was always thin and the doctors worried about him constantly) I haven't had pediatrician visits this easy!
It feels like our little 13 pound bundle of joy has been in our lives forever. I can't picture what my life was before this little guy! It's an overwhelming and very gratifying feeling to know that Heavenly Father entrusted Scott and I with these two boys.
Scott and I are definitely relaxed this time around and it's allowed us to truly enjoy being parents of a newborn again. I am so glad that we have our two sons, that I get to stay home with them, and that our family is complete now.

Carter, Carter, Carter....What Can I Say.....

What can I say...our little Carter Babe is now THREE YEARS OLD!!!! I know it sounds corny, but it really does feel like yesterday Carter was introduced into our lives. I feel to young to have a 3 year old...of course that's what happens when you have your first at 21 right?!?
I am filled with joy, appreciation, admiration and longing for our little guy. Carter has taught Scott and I so much about life, love and what it means to truly be a family. He's our first, and will always have a special place in our hearts because of this.
I absolutely adore Carter. He is such a fun little boy to hang out with, talk to and just be around. Carter and I have a special bond that I hope to continue for the rest of his life....I always refer to him as my handsome boyfriend (with how much time we spend together he is my number one man right now!)
He has such personality. From day one this kid has had an opinion about everything and will only do things on his terms. He's such a goofball and just truly enjoys life. (I wish I could let loose sometimes and enjoy it like he does)
"Carter Morris of Washington Terrace" as he tells everyone in Nursery. He's the exact image that I had in my mind of what my son would look like (who knows where Brax came from!) I love his blonde hair, blue eyes and amazing curly hair!
Our little guy has had a few firsts this year:
1. He started Preschool (and completly LOVES it!)
2. He became a big brother (which he gets better at everyday)
3. He is now potty trained (what a relief)
4. He also became best friends with Hunter Davis (they've always been friends, but this year they have become so close and both boys are really close to Ash and I as well)
I think the biggest thing that Carter has accomplished so far in his life is his amazing relationship with Scott. Carter wasn't a planned baby, and believe me, Scott and I were no where near being ready to be parents....but through everything Scott has become a great dad (despite everything he's had to overcome in his life) and he is so thankful for Carter.

There is no greater love than that of a Father and Son...I'm so grateful that Carter and Scott will always have the bond that, Scott and I both, always wanted in our childhoods.
Carter's party will be next weekend at our church gym, so keep checking back for more pics of the Birthday Boy!
