Camping, School and Hair....

Last weekend my dad let us crash his camping party at Strawberry Resevoir. He has a huge RV that I've never been on a trip in yet, so I thought it was the perfect time to give it a shot.
We did so many things and got in some great "outdoor" time too! Now that the weather is getting cooler, it was nice to take it all in.
We went fishing with the whole crew from my dad's work...and Carter loved the chance to use his McQueen fishing rod. Although I'll admit, fishing is way boring, it was a nice day and amazing views. Carter got bored after a couple of hours of not catching anything and in the middle of silence my 3 year old said, "Guys this is super boring! I'm bored out of my mind, can we go back home to Grandpa Steve's RV?" It was awesome!
While the big boys fished, Brax and I explored. He found a "mountain" that he kept trying to climb.
Scott and I enjoyed hanging out in the RV with the little guys! It was nice to be able to go inside and relax, but then go right back out and go for a hike.
Braxton loved exploring everything the RV had to offer...especially the pantry!
Carter loved pretending to drive it! The entire way up there Carter rode alone with my dad in teh RV while Scott, Brax and I rode in our car. He said he LOVED every minute of the ride!
Thanks Dad for such a great trip!
Carter started his first day of his 4 year old preschool yesterday! He said he had such a fun time and can't wait to go back.
I also made a change...my hair. Ever since I had Brax my hair is completely different. I lose so much hair everyday and since Brax it's more than ever....I get headaches when I wear it up...it's not curly like before but more wavy...it's just so different. So I chopped it off! I'm proud to say that I LOVE it and still wonder why I didn't do this sooner!
The side view is my favorite because it shows just how much shorter it really is. It's so light and I feel so much better now!
We've been busy enjoying life lately....

Ice Cream, Time Outs, Fun Times, and Zucchini....

We've been on an ice cream "high" lately around the Morris household. Carter loves that I make his ice cream cones HUGE! It's one way I make having homemade ice cream sound more fun than going somewhere to get it.

Though Brax is only 1, this kid loves ice cream cones! It's really funny to watch him try to eat one too. He's just about getting the hang of it...but this is what he looked like the other day after an ice cream treat in the car!
The newest part of my day is having to put Brax in timeout! (I know he's young, but hey it's never too early to start disciplining right?) Though I feel like the timeout police lately with 2 boys getting into trouble...we have had our share of fun times too! I rotated the boys' toys again and they played in the playroom for about 3 hours together today!
Our zucchini plant is seriously out of control...just about every week we get at least 5 big zucchinis! My mother-in-law bought me a recipe book on everything zucchini, and I've been able to try out some of them this week.
Though this doesn't look great, it was my attempt at an "apple" crisp zucchini style. It actually tastes really great...just doesn't look like it. You peel, de-seed, and cut the zucchini to look like apples...Scott couldn't tell the difference!
Honey Zucchini bread....yum! There's 2 full cups of zucchini (some extra carrot grated in there too) and still tastes great!
These zucchini chocolate chip cookies are one of Carter and Braxton's favorite now! Love it. They have no idea that it's mostly zucchini in them.
These zucchini pancakes are seriously the BEST! I'm a huge fan of pancakes (usually sweet) but the salty, buttery goodness is so amazing in these! We've eaten them for dinner twice this week already.
I didn't get to take a picture before Scott got to it...but this is a chocolate zucchini nut bread that's seriously to die for! I love it, Carter loves it, Brax eats it like no other and Scott has no idea that he's actually getting green beans, carrots, walnuts, zucchini and some much needed fiber!
Carter helps me cook every single day now and he's really getting the hang of it. He knows how to put all the dirty dishes in the sink, all the used ingredients back in the pantry and the fridge items away! He loves to mix, add and measure. It's really fun having him help to...he talks to me about everything while we bake.

Latest Morris Happenings...

I don't think we could have squeezed another thing into last week! I worked every night at the Weber County Fair until 11pm so that made our schedule crazy. Between going to my mom's and my mother-in-law's and staying home with Scott, the boys were so confused.
I did get some great public relations hours in though for Fat Cats...and what's not to love about a bigger paycheck right?!? I also get a great discount at Pizza Factory...combined with the 'kids eat free on Tuesday' deal, Scott and I can go out as a family for under $9 and get some great food!
We did manage to get together with our best friends in Saratoga Springs even though it's been crazy. Though Carter and Hunter had a great time riding the horses...Brin and Brax hated every minute of waiting in line! Here's the two of them seriously wigging out!
After thanksgiving point, we stopped and got the boys ice cream cones....
And Brax and Brin fell asleep! Love it.
On Saturday night after working the fair that day we got together and took the boys to the Demolition Derby. All I have to say is... boys and cars!
Brax loved it! Though he did fall asleep in my arms, he loved it while he was awake.
My dad's whole work went and there was another Carter there. The two of them became instant friends. We ended up leaving early and missed a huge accident, ambulances and fights! (Gotta love kids right?!?)
I am so proud to announce that Carter had his first day of preschool today as a 4 year old student. Though he's still 3, he's just accelerating through the preschool classes! Love him. He has a new teacher this year, Miss Halladay, who is very nice and is going to teach us so much!
He's such a sweet boy and I can't wait to get back on a schedule again! It's so fun to begin the fall season again.
On a side note: my sister-in-law found a coupon for Blurb.com for $39.95 off your purchase! So I hurried and created my book from my blog (because the coupon is only good through August 31) and I am so excited that I have a 280 page (980 photo) book coming to my house for only $8.99! Go to her blog www.asmorrisclan.blogspot.com to see the coupon.

Destination...Silver Lake...

My cute friend Ashley told me about this lake up Big Cottonwood Canyon and the pictures she took looked amazing. Scott and I have been talking about going ever since I showed him her pictures and how gorgeous it all looked. So, this past weekend my work plans changed and I had Saturday off...we took advantage of the situation and made a small road trip out of it!
Off to Silver Lake we went. The ride was a little over an hour and the boys did so well! It was fun singing songs, playing road games and hanging out on the way there! Once we made it, I knew immediately that it was going to be amazing...

We were able to push the stroller the entire way around the lake...which is always a plus. Of course though once Brax saw Carter walking he had to explore as well...it's so fun having both boys walking now!
The views were breathtaking!

Brax is usually very independent and doesn't want to hold hands...but for the first time on Saturday he let Scott hold his hand most of the way! Scott kept telling me how weird it was to have the little man holding his hand walking around. It was such a gorgeous day (a little bit chilly in my book, but still really nice) it was so calm and quiet...just absolutely perfect!
We had such a great time on Saturday that on Sunday we had Scott's mom and dad come with us again. (I know we're weird) I am so glad they came with us, it was so gorgeous (a bit warmer than on Saturday) and such a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Brax loved every minute of it! He especially liked feeding the ducks on the dock. He kept pointing and making noises at them. This time we didn't bring the stroller and just let the boys walk and explore...they loved having their grandparents there with us. The boardwalk was so nice and so enjoyable to walk around. It was so fun to see Brax learn how to feed the ducks from Carter. He watched Carter take small pieces of bread and throw them int he water...so he would do the same (sometimes though the pieces made it in his mouth instead!)
The funniest part was watching Brax try to "rock climb." He's such a goof!
The mountains were gorgeous, the lake was beautiful...I couldn't have imagined a better time.
On the way there yesterday with Scott's family, I spotted a deer off the side of the road. I'm sure you can guess what Scott did...pull over, turn around and take a million pictures of it! It was huge and stayed really still staring at us the whole time! Crazy. We were a little far away from it, so this is the best shot Scott got. (Pretty sure that made his day...and to think I'm the one who saw it!)
I'm so glad we went... it's definitely going to be a place we frequent now.
I love this picture, it's moments like these that shape our future.

Super Busy....

We have been so busy lately. I love staying busy...with everything going on lately, it's nice to be busy and not have time to think about how crappy life gets.
I took the boys to the Treehouse for the first time since Brax has been really walking. They had a blast! Carter was so excited to show Brax everything and what buttons to push where...it was a great time!
Carter's favorite part was "doctoring" Braxton...I have to admit: Brax was pretty nice to let Carter do all sorts of things to him!
They both LOVED the music room...it's by far my favorite room there!
We've been busy keeping up on the garden....and Carter has been so excited to pick his zucchini. We've been baking almost everyday and I grate up the zucchini and carrot and put them in everything! I love knowing that even though Carter's a little picky he's still getting a full serving of veggies (home grown none the less)
When my life gets a little too much to handle sometimes...I go straight to home-improvement projects. My latest venture has been the bathroom. This room has been an eye-sore for the last almost 4 years! We're not going to have money to fix it anytime soon...so what do you do on a tight budget and an ugly bathroom? PAINT! I did some research and have the best method to making nasty tile look new again...but still be able to get wet, scrubbed and stay nice!
Here's my small progress... it's kind of a cream color which goes so well with everything else in the house. (I can't even tell you how much I hate white walls)
I can't wait to one day no longer look at this....And only see this!
Ashley and I got the kids together and went to the new Riverdale Splash Pad! So fun...it's a really cute one too with playgrounds, lots of room to run around and so much space!
Carter was already in the water when Hunter came...once Carter saw his best friend he yelled, "HUNTER" and they both ran toward each other! So cute.
Brinley and Braxton are just so cute together! Ash told Brin to give Brax a hug and Braxton leaned his head down to let her kiss him! They are the cutest!
My mom, sister and I took the boys swimming at the Clearfield Aquatic Center and had a great time! Carter loved that there were so many shallow areas for him.
While Brax loved the swinging seats and going around in the rapid area.
Scott's cousin Ryan has the CUTEST little boy and came over yesterday to hang out with us...so precious is this little Charlie!
He fell asleep in my arms! I guess all the playing, laughing and goofing around really wore that poor little guy out!
Overall, we've been busy balancing both work schedules, the boys, family life, home projects and just having fun....it's pretty awesome living life!
