Zoo Fun!

Scott had Monday off...gotta love Columbus right?!? So we decided to take advantage of the last weekday he'll have off until Thanksgiving by taking the boys to the Zoo.
I've wanted to go to the zoo forever now because they have a new baby elephant (and for those that don't know Carter is OBSESSED with his "Ellie" and I thought it would be cool for him to see a real elephant) It was a really nice day too. For Braxton's first time at the Zoo I'd have to say it was well worth the trip!
Here are the two little guys on the Merry Go Round!
Carter's favorite part was the playground.
Cute Brax just loved being outdoors and listening to all the weird animal noises.
I love having two boys...
Don't all three of them just look THRILLED to take this picture?!?
Overall, it was a great day spent with just our family.

A Family of Four....

Braxton is 3 months old! Our sweet little boy is such an amazing addition to our family...he's so "chill" and laid-back I LOVE HIM!!!
Becoming a family of four has brought a sense of completness to our family. There's something about having two brothers too...it's so fun having both boys in our family. The second we had Brax, things changed for our little fam of 3. And I have to say, I wouldn't have it any other way...
Our little man is growing so fast! He's now 100% on bottles (I never nurse very long) and it's a good thing. He drinks his formula so fast that the pediatrician has put him on rice cereal in the formula too. (She says he's going to be one of those babies that eats food early and lots of it!) It's such a great change to have a healthy growing boy (Carter was always thin and the doctors worried about him constantly) I haven't had pediatrician visits this easy!
It feels like our little 13 pound bundle of joy has been in our lives forever. I can't picture what my life was before this little guy! It's an overwhelming and very gratifying feeling to know that Heavenly Father entrusted Scott and I with these two boys.
Scott and I are definitely relaxed this time around and it's allowed us to truly enjoy being parents of a newborn again. I am so glad that we have our two sons, that I get to stay home with them, and that our family is complete now.

Carter, Carter, Carter....What Can I Say.....

What can I say...our little Carter Babe is now THREE YEARS OLD!!!! I know it sounds corny, but it really does feel like yesterday Carter was introduced into our lives. I feel to young to have a 3 year old...of course that's what happens when you have your first at 21 right?!?
I am filled with joy, appreciation, admiration and longing for our little guy. Carter has taught Scott and I so much about life, love and what it means to truly be a family. He's our first, and will always have a special place in our hearts because of this.
I absolutely adore Carter. He is such a fun little boy to hang out with, talk to and just be around. Carter and I have a special bond that I hope to continue for the rest of his life....I always refer to him as my handsome boyfriend (with how much time we spend together he is my number one man right now!)
He has such personality. From day one this kid has had an opinion about everything and will only do things on his terms. He's such a goofball and just truly enjoys life. (I wish I could let loose sometimes and enjoy it like he does)
"Carter Morris of Washington Terrace" as he tells everyone in Nursery. He's the exact image that I had in my mind of what my son would look like (who knows where Brax came from!) I love his blonde hair, blue eyes and amazing curly hair!
Our little guy has had a few firsts this year:
1. He started Preschool (and completly LOVES it!)
2. He became a big brother (which he gets better at everyday)
3. He is now potty trained (what a relief)
4. He also became best friends with Hunter Davis (they've always been friends, but this year they have become so close and both boys are really close to Ash and I as well)
I think the biggest thing that Carter has accomplished so far in his life is his amazing relationship with Scott. Carter wasn't a planned baby, and believe me, Scott and I were no where near being ready to be parents....but through everything Scott has become a great dad (despite everything he's had to overcome in his life) and he is so thankful for Carter.

There is no greater love than that of a Father and Son...I'm so grateful that Carter and Scott will always have the bond that, Scott and I both, always wanted in our childhoods.
Carter's party will be next weekend at our church gym, so keep checking back for more pics of the Birthday Boy!

Staying Busy...

Back in January I was under the impression that by becoming a stay at home mom, things would, at the very least, slow down for our family....well I couldn't have been more wrong!
Once we became a family of four....things just kept getting busier and busier for us. This is what we've been up to lately...
COUSIN TIME! Scott and I thought that our brother and sister-in-law needed to get away for a little while without the kids...so we watched them for them. This made our family of four...and family of 6 real quick and with four boys under the age of 5! CRAZY!!!! But oh so fun....
we made POPCORN...
and burned off energy at the PARK! It was so fun having all the boys together...it did however teach Scott and me that we could NEVER have that many kids! :)
Ash and I decided to take the boys bowling for the first time now that the weather is getting worse. Though I really did think it would be easy...it wasn't. It was really fun but the poor boys didn't understand the concept of waiting until their turn.
They always have a good time together though, and the ramp they had really helped them get the ball "rolling." It was really fun and I so want to go again!
My mom, sister and I took the boys to a house in her neighborhood that let us pick apples from her trees for free. It was so fun...I've never picked apples from trees before.
Carter showed Brax his pear that he found right on the ground.....
Here's my mom showing Carter what apple picking is all about!
Carter and I try to go to Lowes and do the "build and grow" projects they have on Saturdays. Well, this past Saturday was PERFECT! The project was a fire truck and they had South Ogden City there with their fire trucks to check out!
Here's the little man enjoying his red balloon by the fire truck...
Here's Carter making his fire truck...
Overall, we've had something going on everyday lately. I'm hoping tomorrow can be our relaxing family day watching Conference, baking, and playing together.

Preschool Field Trip...

Carter's preschool had their first field trip last week. The parents were all invited as well, so off we went to the Pumpkin Patch! I have to say...it was a blast!
(Don't mind my goofy son's weird smile)
They had a slide there made out of this huge tubing...and it was Carter's favorite!
I even went down a few slides with him too!
The cutest part was the train, they were all shaped like animals and it was pulled by a four wheeler. How fun right?
Carter got to pick his pumpkin out of the patch and tell the guy which one he wanted. They then cut it right from the vine...it was so fun to see Carter pick it out and wait for the guy to come over to us. Brax of course was chillin' in his carseat.
Carter and Hunter were having so much fun on the "hay ride" it's so nice having both boys in preschool together!
Here are the three boys that went together on everything! They were having so much fun....the best part is that the whole trip was included in our tuition...so no evtra fees whatsoever! LOVE IT!
It was such a great time....Black Island Farms in Syracuse is the place to go!

The Morris Brothers...

Our sweet little boys.....
What can I say...Scott and I make some pretty cute kids! :) Life as a mom of two is amazing, it's hard to even picture my life without Braxton and Carter in it! It's so sweet and very inspiring when Carter and Brax "talk" to eachother. Carter tells him about his toys and snacks while Brax smiles and "coos" back at him. There is no other experience like it!
Things have been crazy, stressful, humbling, educational...well you name it and we've probably experienced it over the last month or so! But at the end of the day...our sweet boys are truly a gift from Heavenly Father and Scott and I thank him everyday for our blessings.
I use this blog as my "online journal" so I wanted to do a quick post that will help remember our trials and blessings at this stage of our lives.

Cousin Memories!

Last week my sister in law, Annie and I got the cousins together to get some much needed pictures taken. This is the first time ever, that all four cousins have gotten their pictures taken.
All I can say is...AMAZING JOB STEPH! She had four boys ages: 4 1/2, 3, 2, and 2 months to get some groups shots, individuals and other cute memories.
Here is one that I totally wanted and I am so glad we got it...
This one of Tanner is just adorable! This little boy is such a sweet and kind little person. He adores Brax and talks to him in the "baby" voice that everyone uses with babies.
Carter and Hunter are so fun to watch play and interact with eachother. They really get along so well, much to my amazement! I do have to commend Hunter on posing for the camera...what a good boy he is!
Here's one that is really cute! Poor Brax was getting the fuzzies all over him, but he didn't cry or anything! He just chilled in the basket and the big boys had fun with their "cat tails."
Now this one, though Steph did a great job of getting the pic...this was ALL MY IDEA! And I have to admit....the cutest yet!!!!!
Steph did such a great job...I'm always so impressed with her work. Now Annie and I have memories to share with the family.

Is it almost October Already?

So I'll admit...I have turned into one of those people that only update their blog every so often now! I'm so going to work on that though. I can't believe it's going to be October already! Here's what we've been up to so far this month...
My mom's school was having a carnival...and of course we had to take part in THAT! It was so fun. Carter invited his friend Hunter to join us and the two boys had a blast! Though my sister Julia is almost 17, she's still a big kid at heart...and had to get her face painted too!
Carter was such a good sport about getting his face painted. I really wasn't sure how he would do and he loved it!
They had a bike course to ride around on and learn the hand signals. Carter liked it, but his legs were just a bit to short to really use the pedals.
I took the boys in for their "well-kid" check ups. (Carter's 3 year and Braxton's 2 month) So I thought I was brilliant getting the appointments done at the same time...well it turned out that we were in there for over an hour! That's right two kids in a doctor's office for over an hour...I may think it through next time.
The boys are so cute though...and yes I was really bored in the room!
Scott and I also took the boys to the Utah State Fair. I absolutely love going there and having Carter do the FFA kid thing. It's so fun and Carter always loves it!
Another tradition is Carter and Scott always take a ride on the helicopters. Carter loves it, but every time Scott tried to use the controls, our little guy freaked out! He's a little bit of a control freak...I have NO idea where he gets that from!
Of course what's a trip to the Fair without a few pics right? These always make me laugh because Brax could not look any more confused and Carter has the weirdest grin...still these are memories in the making folks!Last...our little Brax is growing up so much! The little guy weighs over 12 pounds now and holds his head up when on his belly, rolls over from his belly to his back and squiggles ALL the time...
It's such a blessing to have Brax in our family. Carter has become such a great big brother, I have realized that being a mom is so much more fun when you have two, and Scott can't wait for them to grow up and work on cars, hunt and gang up on me! :)

I Know, I know, I'm a Slacker!

Yes, I know it's been FOREVER since my last post. But in my defense, things have been stressful around here to say the least.
Anyway, here are some updates of what our life has consisted of over the last few weeks...
Cute Brax is growing up so fast and getting so big very quickly. For those that know me, I am "anti thumb sucking" for many reasons, the main one being that I was allowed to suck my thumb as a child and continued to do so until I was like 6 years old! So, I have been very strict about thumb sucking ever since Carter was born...well here's a really funny shot of our little Brax....
Carter and I have been to the Kangaroo Zoo about a dozen times now...and I have to admit it's so much fun seeing him cruise up the ladders and shoot down the slides now!
Now that there are two munchkins to bathe up every night, I came up with the brilliant idea to do them together....(yeh I know I'm not the first one to think this out) But aren't my little boys adorable together?
The next big new is that our sweet Carter just started preschool last week! He now goes twice a week and absolutely LOVES it! Ms. Hill is his teacher's name and he talks non-stop about her when we get home each day.
This was his orientation where he made his very own school bag. One of the greatest parts about his preschool is that his best friend Hunter is going with him. Ash and I now get two hours of "toddler free" time to hang out, exercise and be with our "babies."
We also went to the Davis County Fair just recently and had a blast! Carter's cute friend Rylan tried to stand up while the train was going and of course our controlling Carter put his hand on Rylan's leg to keep him from standing up. It was really cute!
Here are the two Morris boys!
This one is just too cute to not share....
Overall, we've kept busy these last few weeks.
