Livin' on the Farm...

Carter's class has been focusing on Life Circles last month and this month. For that, they had eggs in an incubator that they monitored and watched hatch! So fun. (They're very "all natural" and focus on life skills as well as education)
I'm not going to lie, Carter's been struggling with the full-time transition, and I don't blame the little guy. It's hard to work as many hours as both Scott and I do, and I know it's hard on the boys to be in "daycare" full-time too. But it's for the greater good, so we'll keep moving forward.
Well, it's been a fight to get the little man to go to school everyday, once he's there he truly has a great time and has so many friends.....but getting him there takes all I have not to go insane.
Ever since the eggs hatched into chicks, Carter's been excited to go to school and doesn't fight me at all.
That's how it all began....he learned real fast that if you wear mom down to nothing, then you can pretty much get anything you want from her. :)
Meet our newest additions...
That's right folks, chicks! We are now proud parents of chickens! I NEVER thought the day would come (I'm so not "farmer-ish") But here we are, and to my surprise I really love the little things.
They are super friendly with the boys and love being held. Carter and Brax love watching them and playing with them.
I'm excited to see how fast they grow....

Tulip Festival...

Ashley and I got year memberships to Thanksgiving Point this year...and that of course meant that we needed to go to the Tulip Festival. I've always wanted to go, but it's been too expensive to justify going. This year, I was all about it!

The kids had a BLAST!

Braxton and Brinley were so cute holding hands! I don't think my voice could have been any higher when I was calling Ashley to look at our kids...

Look at how cute these two are....
The boys were so fun! They had a great time running around and exploring!

We went to the Farm afterwards. My boys and Brin didn't want to ride the horse, so here's the three of them watching Hunter in the background! It was a perfect day, nice and warm but not hot. The wind was slight and I got a little color! Prefect!!

Easter...

The Easter festivities came so quickly this year! I have always loved celebrating Easter, decorating with everything "spring" and of course Jelly Beans!

This year I really wanted to show the boys the science behind dying the eggs...so out came the colors and hard boiled eggs. We talked about mixing colors, vinegar making the colors brighter and how the hard boiled egg works better than a raw one. I think we did pretty well!

Scott and I filled over 50 eggs on Friday night and filled the boys' Easter baskets. We wanted to celebrate the "bunny" part on Saturday. So here's what the boys woke up to on Saturday morning...

We had a "practice" egg hunt so that the boys were ready for the real thing. Carter was actually very good at making sure Braxton had the same amount of eggs that he did.

So cute!
The Hill AFB Egg Hunt is by far my favorite! I try to go there every year...and this year surpassed all others! We got there a little early, so the boys had a perfect chance to meet the Easter Bunny. They had TONS of eggs for the kids, and the parents got boxes of chocolates and celestial tea boxes. It was AWESOME!
We went to my dad's that evening and decorated the most adorable cupcakes ever!

They look like pots!

On Sunday we woke up late, hung out as a family and talked to the boys about Jesus' Resurrection. I had some fun things planned for Primary that I used with our boys. It was really fun to see how much Carter really picked up on. (His preschool is at a Lutheran church, so he really knew a ton about Jesus' death and how he rose 3 days later)

After church, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Morris' house. The boys got kites, and it was a perfect day to fly them! Carter had a blast running up and down the sidewalk...
What an amazing weekend. Between the fun activities, family time and hope for better weather...it couldn't have gotten any better.

I'm truly grateful for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I'm amazed at how much Scott and I have in our lives, we are thankful everyday for our many blessings.

Oh Spring...How We Love You....

It has been so nice being outside, enjoying the fresh air...and playing sports! We are so lucky to be able to participate in all of the base youth center activities. Because of his birthday, Carter misses most cut off dates for sports...well on base they actually start at the age of 3! So this is his second year playing T-Ball.

This year we're the Angels! Carter loves the color red, so this really made him super excited. I've been able to make it to two practices so far (I work until 5 so to have his practices start at five has made it really difficult for me to come)

We also got to get team pictures taken...I'll have the "real" one to post soon...but here's our version for now...

Watching these little 3 and 4 year olds play, run and try to hit the ball is seriously fun! I love watching not because it's funny (even though it is) but because this is what life is all about...

Scott and I are determined to make sure the boys get the stimulation, outlets and experiences that they need to be amazing guys when they grow up.

One of the new things that's been really fun for Scott and the boys is the extra "man" time they get to spend together. I work later than Scott everyday, so he picks the boys up from school. He has planned a few really fun "outings" for the three of them lately...one was going to Farr's Ice Cream.
Farr's is Scott's favorite place to get ice cream, so to pass this on to the boys has been fun. It's been really fun to hear about how much fun the three of them have without me. (Though I miss it sometimes, it's still really nice for them to grow up with these memories from their dad.)

I'm a Fat Cat....

It's official....I'm the new Events Manager for FatCats Ogden!

This position has been offered to me more than once, and this time around I was finally ready to take it. I love, love, love what I do! I'm truly made to socialize, party and plan events...while getting paid well to do so!

This position mean so many new things are coming my way: I get an assistant (that's right I'm no longer the assistant, I actually have one of my own) I have a team of hosts for the parties and I get to basically control my own destiny. I am the "big boss" for the Event Services department and absolutely LOVE it!

It also brings new things for our family, the boys will be in full time daycare...which was super hard for me to decide on. I found an amazing place where Carter gets full time preschool and some much needed consistency, while Brax gets to socialize and have a routine day. I can't wait for the consistency, routine and normalized world we soon get to live in finally.

One of the best things about this whole thing, is how much time I get to spend with my family of 4! We do so much more now as a family because it's all free!

Though working more hours is a bit taxing on me, the pre-cooked meals, consistency, and extra income is so nice! Here's to our bright future!

Carter Babe...

Carter is one amazing 4 year old! Scott and I never seem to get enough of this kid, and we can't wait to see the "man" he's going to grow up to be.

But until this little dude gets older, (and doesn't want to hang out with me anymore) he's one of my favorite people to hang out with.

Carter had his second Parent Presentation for his preschool the other day. Braxton and I were so excited to sit in the classroom, and watch our favorite 4 year old perform. And perform he did, it was awesome!

I am so proud of how much this little guy knows! He really works with music notes, piano playing, sign language, writing and reading. He loves school so much!

And seriously, what's not to love when you're this kid....

It's moments like this that really make me realize how blessed we truly are to have such an amazing boy!

Spring Is Coming...

It's the BEST time of year! I absolutely love spring and everything it brings!

One of my favorite holidays happens to be Easter, and to have an entire month of spring to celebrate makes me so happy! My mother-in-law happens to have her birthday the end of March, and of course I "had" to plan a craft for all of us to do.

Tom and Margaret came over to our house for dinner and our "Easter-Inspired" craft!

Being outside is one of my favorite parts of spring as well. My cousin from Arizona is staying with my mom because he's trying out for the Ogden Semi-Pro Soccer team. Carter has been super excited to "play soccer" with him all week! Beus Park is one of my favorite places to take the boys, Carter loves it too.....
Brax was introduced to the glories of riding your bike in the park...
Thanksgiving Point is one of my favorite places to take the boys, and I got an AMAZING deal on a family pass there this year! My "barn only" pass got upgraded for FREE!
Super fun this year with both of them being to independent...
Gotta love tractors and seeds....
Carter loves the horses, and as much I thought Brax would like them too, he really didn't...so we watched big brother....So fun! LOVE this month and all it's bringing with it!

St. Patrick's Day 2011...

St. Patrick's Day has always been widely celebrated in my house growing up...now that I'm a mom, I truly get how fun it is! Having both boys be so independent and able to do so much...I really had to step up my game this year.

Carter made a leprechaun catcher at preschool, and showed it off to Brax as soon as he got home. While the big boy was school, the little man and I got to work on our "Green Surprise!"
My mom got me the giant cupcake mold for Christmas...and I've been waiting for a great excuse to try it out.
This is my masterpiece (can you see why I don't decorate cakes for a living?)
I wanted to make this extra special, so we "hid" gold frosting in the middle. When Carter got home I told him all about leprechauns and finding gold....when I cut into the cake this is what we found....GOLD!
Carter thought it was pretty cool! I have to say, for only using what I had on hand...it all turned out great!
For dinner we're having leprechaun sized pasta....
They're mini stars...it's super cute and very quick!
I hope everyone is having a great St. Patrick's Day!

Growing Up...

Growing up is something that our boys are doing so quickly right now! It's fun, exciting and still a little sad to see some qualities change because neither one of them is little anymore.

I've known for a little while that Brax needs to be in an actual bed, but I couldn't make up my mind what we were going to do. Then one day...lightbulb! His crib is a convertible one, so it turns into a full size bed, this is technically a FREE bed...and we need is the mattress.

So off to the store we went, did anyone know that going from a twin to a full is only a $15 difference? Seriously?!?

Here is what the little guy's room looked like...

And now this is what the little one gets to sleep in...He actually did really well! He got Carter's twin bed, and took his first nap with NO ISSUES! He just layed right down and fell asleep. Tonight wasn't different, he's such a cute little guy! And now he's big in his REAL bed.

Carter got upgraded to a full bed, because of the crib situation...and all I have to say is...AWESOME!We went to store and found bedding for $17 that he LOVES! We made it a party when the mattress arrived and he had such a great time playing in it. He even had a specific side for Ellie the Elephant to sleep on. :) Precious!

One thing I've been doing with Carter is putting his crafts, school pictures and projects up on his wall. I've been calling it his "Wall of Greatness" and I have to say it's really special. Carter loves that he can display his things, I love that it's not all crammed on the fridge and it really lets him know how proud we are of him! I want to frame the half of the wall and have a different paint color inside to highlight everything. Until then, glue dots and mini nails are my best friend!

Fun times....

We've been very busy lately, making sure to to super fun things! I've made it a priority for our family to make sure FUN is a crucial part of our lives. (It's so easy to let the little things get in the way)

Scott went on a campout with the Elder's Quorum on friday night and had a blast! This is the first time in almost 5 years that he's gone somewhere with friends! When he came back this afternoon, it was off to Ikea and Cabelas for the Morris Fam of four.
We were lucky enough to plan it at a time when Aunt Ju Ju could join us!
We had treats, all kinds of music and some fun stops along the way!I didn't get any pics at Ikea, but I did take some time at Cabelas.
The boys had so much fun...
I just love these two! Scott and I have been having fun seeing the differences between them....because there's a TON of them!
We also got the treat to meet my friend Ashley and her kids at FatCats this week as well. My sister had the day off of school then too...so of course she came!
One of the huge perks of me working there is the FREE activities we get to do. We did bumper cars...
Glow Golf...Pirate style...
And also bowled, but it was enough to keep the kids out of trouble so I didn't get any pictures.
Here's to FUN!!
