Oh Braxton....

Our sweet little man is one week old today! I can't believe that he's here, and it's already been a week. Having Braxton in our family has been the greatest blessing ever! I love holding him while he sleeps, or watching his sweet blue eyes while he's awake, or just admiring him in his swing content as can be.
Scott and I love our Carter, he was our first and number one for so long, but having Braxton added to our family has been such a rewarding experience.
Here's a picture of our two boys at Braxton's first pediatrician appointment...
Of course I had to break out my camera the last few days and test my photography skills. I'm not great at it, but hey that's what photoshop is for right?
Braxton brings such a sweet and calming spirit to our home. He's made our family complete and really put everything into perspective. It's definitely the little things in life that matter most.
I absolutely LOVE having to kids! I never thought I'd completely love being a mom of two, but so far I really do! My boys are so different, yet so much the same and I'm enjoying living in the moment....
Our lives have changed so much over the last week, but things are slowly getting back to normal. My body is getting adjusted to not sleeping through the night, and Scott is back to work after a week off, and cute Carter just talks to Braxton non-stop. Life is a little crazy right now, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Our new Life....

Scott and I could not be more thrilled with our new life as parents of two boys! Though I feel a spread thin, it's completely worth every minute!
Here is a snapshot of my cute husband with our new little guy....the sweetest thing. I walked out of the bathroom to find Scott singing to little Baby Braxton...precious.
Here's a picture of the last time Braxton would sleep in his hospital bed! It was so nice to bring him home and intriduce him to everything we had in store for him.

Last night I put my two boys in their matching pjs and of course had to snap off a few pics. Carter and my mom picked out a "mini Ellie" so that Braxton could have a best friend like he does. Carter wanted them in the picture.
Here's just a really cute one of the two boys. It's amazing how dark Braxton looks compared to Carter...I am loving the differences and similarities between our two little guys.
This is the cutest of my two boys.....
And of course I had to add a pic of the very first picture taken with me and my two sons! I can't even begin to explain the amazement, appreciation and fullness in my heart I have when I look at them.
We are adjusting to our new home and our new family responsibilites of four! But are so happy and could not be more excited to see what the future has in store for us.

Braxton is Finally Here!

Our little man has arrived! Scott and I couldn't be more thrilled with everything!
I was induced on Monday morning at 5:30 in the morning and apparently I like to drag everything out....so little Baby Braxton wasn't born until 1:37 in the afternoon! But he is so worth the wait....
Our sweet man weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long! He's such a sweet little guy...it's hard to believe that Carter was ever that little.

During the delivery the room was filled with my mom, sister Julia, Scott's mom and of course Scott! It was such a fun, emotional and inspiring time for all of us!
Here are the new grandmas!
And of course you have to add a close-up of the new addtition to the Morris household!

My sister came to the hospital with me and Scott at 5:30 that morning and was such an added bonus to have around with Scott. She was really great because she'd let me squeeze her hand during the contractions and also talked me through the epidural....gotta love this girl!
She also adores Carter, so when he came to meet his new baby brother she of course had to share her love of wheelchairs with him! Pretty sure he's enjoying himself!
Here are our two boys! It's so amazing how much our lives have changed in the last 24 hours. We are now a family of four. When I go anywhere it's not "Christie and Carter are coming" it's going to be "Christie and the boys are coming!"
I am truly grateful for everything in my life! This delivery was absolutely wonderful, Braxton is a good little "nurser" and is such an easy little man so far!

Our Last Weekend as a Family of 3!

This weekend is bittersweet for our little family. Scott and I adore our little Carter and love being a family of three but are also super excited to introduce another member to our family.
To my amazement, Scott had Friday and Saturday off this weekend...which worked out perfectly because we all got some quality time to spend together for our last weekend as a family of 3!
Carter's friend Hunter had his third birthday party yesterday and I can't even tell you how excited Carter was to go! He kept talking about eating Hunter's Birthday cake all day! THey are such great friends, it's so fun to see them grow up together.
Carter even got his first chance at hitting a pinata! (Don't mind my gigantic self in the picture!)
Scott has been teaching Carter all about fishing...and the little guy even has his own Lighting McQueen Fishing Rod! But every time we go somewhere to fish, we haven't had any luck catching anything. So Scott decided it was time to try out a fish famr so that Carter would finally get to catch something for sure!

All I have to say it was way more fun than I thought!
Carter loved it!
And, we all know I'm not the world's greatest cook. I get the job done, but it's usually nothing to get excited about. But I do have to admit, I made an AMAZING dinner the other night! And it was way easy! I like to call it the Pizza Bread Twist!
It was so easy so if anyone want the recipe let me know!
And of course you know I had to have some kind of craft project this weekend too. Carter has this elephant (he actually got it from my firend Rachel for his baby shower before he was born) and now they are connected at the hip. He has to sleep with her, she has to come with us in the car and they even have full conversations!
Anyway, I saw this little bed at Savers and couldn't pass it up!
Here is the end result!
Carter enjoyed painting it himself too!
This is what it looked like before....with a little Lysol, TLC and paint it turned out great!
Overall, it's been a great weekend. Carter will spend the night at my mom's tonight and bright and early tomorrow morning Scott and I will get up and head to the hospital. Little Braxton is arriving sometime tomorrow! I can't wait!!
More pictures of everything tomorrow...

Ahh...Summer Time!

So, I'm still pregnant everyone! :) I haven't been doing as well as I'd like the past few days...and with a 2 1/2 year old that makes life a lot harder. So Scott has been making sure that he has lots of things planned to do with Carter so that I can rest. My boys (Scott and Carter) are so cute together...Carter could not be more of a "mini Scott" than he already is!
My family knows a guy (Jim) that has lots of land in Idaho with so many things to do....and Scott made the drive up there and spent the entire day with our little guy. There was fishing, 4wheeling, camping, hiking, tubing down the river, and Scott's absolutel favortie part.....the antique cars!
Jim has an amazing collection of every vintage car imaginable! Scott was in heaven...which naturally means that Carter was getting a kick out of everything too! They has sucha great time riding in the old cars, checking out everything he had and just being somewhere without a complaining mom and wife! :)

Summer is my absolute favorite part of the year! This is one of the many reasons for that....
Yesterday for the Fourth of July we had a great relaxing time roasting marshmallows and making s'mores before we headed out front for a firework show.
I thought I'd add this picture because I can guarantee I will never look like this on the Fourth of July again! My belly gets bigger and bigger everyday! I'm not sure how much longer I can last...
During the day yesterday, I decided it was time to actually be a part of our family...so we all went to a car show in Logan. Apparantly it's the biggest car show in Utah! Carter and Scott of course were loving it! It was such a nice day, the weather was nice and there were plenty of trees for shade. This is my two boys in front of their favorite car...a Corvette.
We have been spending time outside (up in the mountains where it's cooler) because we know how hard it's going to be when little Braxton arrives....and Carter has been loving it.
Scott and Carter "shoot" guns, collect rocks and check out everything while I sit on chubby bum and relax. It's really funny because Carter has a nail gun that he got for Christmas with his other tools, and he brings that along to "Shoot" while Scott actually has his real guns.

It's been a lot of fun hanging out and watching our little Carter grow up each day! It seems like everyday he changes a little bit and this is definitely keeping us on our toes!
Look how cute my two boys are....
This time with the threesome family won't last very long. I'm at a four now and in a couple days go back for a check up. If I don't go into labor on my own....July 13 is my induction date! So, despite the swelling, nausea, weight gain, pains, contractions and fatigue I know that in 8 days I won't be pregnant anymore. We'll keep you posted.

Catch Up and Update...

I know it's been a long time since my last post... but I have been a little preoccupied hanging out with my little man. The last few weeks have been a little crazy: with the organizing, preparing for our new little guy and still trying to plan some fun things to do with Carter while it's just the two of us.
But I am so happy to say that the last few days have been the best for me and my favorite 2 1/2 year old...we've been hanging out singing songs, dancing, walking and just playing cars together. It's been so fun to just sit and watch his little mind at work...I know I won't be able to do that when this new baby arrives...so I'm taking advantage now.
I'm proud, excited and a little nervous to say that I am already at a 3 and 90% effaced, so it will definitely be sooner than later when our little Braxton arrives. (It's really cute, Carter always talks about his little brother and calls him "Baby Baxton") I can't wait to soon be a mom of two boys....
As far as things go right now...Scott and I are just trying to enjoy the last few days of our lives and we know it...before we enter into parenthood of two!

Kangaroo Zoo (Yes At 36 weeks Pregnant!)

I've been feeling the "need" to take Carter out and do lots of things with him while it's still just the two of us....today was no exception. My sister and I took Carter and his friend Hunter to the Kangaroo Zoo in North Salt Lake.
Between the two of us, the boys were under control (I could not have done it without her!) They had so much fun too....
This is us...yes I have a waay shiny face (but you would too carrying around a 7 pound kid and running around the place!) The boys were so cute to sit at the little table and drink their slushies....
Carter was having so much fun! We've gone a total of three times now, but I have to say this time was the BEST so far! He was so much more adventurous and daring...it was so fun to watch!
Hunter is so advanced when it comes to coordination. This kid was cruising up the mazes and slides with the BIG kids! He was having a blast and seriously gave my sister a workout! (But look at how cute he is)
Julia (aka Ju Ju) was such a great sport. We would trade off watching each boy and she did such a wonderful job making sure the bigger kids didn't ruin our fun today!
And the best part of Kangaroo Zoo.....
That's right they both fell asleep on the way home! Gotta love nap time!
So for now I'm going to enjoy my time with Carter because I don't think I'll have much more alone time with him. (I'm already at a 2 and 75% effaced...so we'll see when our little man is going to arrive)

Endings, Beginnings and So Much More...

So my only brother graduated from Clearfield High School last past week. I have three sisters and this is my only brother....and what stud he's turned out to be...

Although graduations are fun, sentimental and festive....the actual graduation ceremony is BRUTAL! They even charged us $5 a person to attend (cheap Clearfield)! The ceremony was okay as far as ceremonies go, but I have to admit it's much more fun to be the graduate than to watch.
We went out to eat for Sean's graduation and of course Carter learned some new tricks from his Uncle. Like how to correctly put your hands while having a pie eating contest!
Or how to shove the most jello in your mouth without using utensils!
It was a fun time, it makes me feel old because it was just 6 years ago that I graduated from Clearfield High...now look where I am! CRAZY!
We (and by "we" I really mean Scott) has been trying to get the major outdoor projects done before this little baby arrives. And of course Carter had to lend a helping hand....sunglasses and all!
This picture was just too funny not to share....this is out little "exercising Timmy!"
The weather has been so nice lately and I've been trying to keep Carter busy (and myself for that matter...the busier I am the less I pay attention to all the aches and pains of being 34 weeks pregnant). Lately Ashley and I have been getting together at the Splash Pad (like twice a week) and the boys LOVE it!
Our little stud muffins are so adorable! And they play so well together, it's so nice because Ash and I get to hang out while the boys wear themselves out!
We've been so busy (in a great way) lately and have been spending as much time as possible as a family of three....because I swear this little guy is coming sooner than later. I'm 34 weeks pregnant (I had Carter at 37 weeks) and this little man already weighs 5 pounds 13 ounces! So for my poor body's benefit I hope things start happening within the next 3-4 weeks.

The 2009 Air Show!

It's that time of year again....and it only comes every few years....the Hill Air Force Base Air Show! Scott and I look forward to this event every time it comes around. For one: we love airplanes (my stepdad flies them so I grew up around them, and Scott just loves 'em) and for two: this year Carter was going to experience it for the very first time. At the last air show I was pregnant with Carter (only 5 months so I was way more active than this time). We were so excited to show Carter the wonderful world of Air Shows and all that entails.

Pretty sure our little guy LOVED going in the planes and looking at everything they had inside them! And this was my stepdad's first Aiw Show that he didn't have to "work" it, so it was extra special to spend it with Carter.

Scott also loved looking at the different planes, watching the show, and talking to his dad about all the fun stories of the planes.

My sister and I are all about the "freebies" you get at the different booths. We walked away with free diapers, lip gloss, shop towels, flags, magnets...the list goes on and on.

It was sucha fun time for us, the weather was nice (with a breeze even) and though there were a TON of people, we managed to spend 5 hours there today.
