First Ever Trunk or Treat!

Last night was a very special night for both Carter and myself....we experienced our first "Trunk or Treat." I know you may htink I'm way old for my first Trunk or Treat but we've never been anywhere that did this before. And I have to admit...I'm now all about them!

This year Carter was a Gorilla....the cutest part....HIS BUM!

At first Carter had no idea what was going on...by the end of the night he would walk up to the trunks say, "Want one" and then grab a pice of candy before saying, "Ba-Bye" So funy!

Scott was trying to make sure Carter didn't miss a single trunk....well I'm sorry to say he disappointed his dad and went in his own pattern.

Carter loved it! It was so much fun and we were able to go with a lady that I work with (she actually related to the Morris' FUNNY!) and her family is awesome!

After the event we went home and hung out for a little bit. Scott has been so amazed lately at how much Carter is growing up and becoming his own little person. It's so much fun to see the two of them bond. There has not been one day lately that Scott doesn't tell me how much he loves our little guy and is becoming so proud of him!

I am speechless most of the time when it comes to Carter. I get to see him do things that Scott misses out on because he's working so many hours, but this little boy definitely is making our lives happier and more complete than we could have ever imagined.

I have to say, we're going to make this a tradition in the Morris household and I think we'll go with Karen every year too!

A Couple of "Bucket-Heads"

Today Jackie and I got our two little boys together again. It's become a ritual to go eat at Cafe Rio first and then come back to my house to play. Though Carter wasn't very nice to sweet little Rylan at first...he has now warmed up to him and loves his new friend.
Of course, as all older friends do, Carter decided to share his love for "bucket hats" with Rylan...
Rylan was such a good sport about it and kept it on for awhile. I'm not really sure what was going through his head...because Carter probably is the only kid to wear a bucket on his head.
They really do play so well together it's fun to see. Rylan is going to be a year in January, so I'm thinking Carter loves the fact that he's teaching Rylan everything he's going to need to know.

The Big Sis' Proud Moment...

For those of you that don't know...I'm the big sister to 4 siblings! I'm one of five kids....between two sets of parents.

The next oldest in the mixed fam is Rebecca Ann (19) on the left. She just started her first semester in College! She has done so well for herself and is pursuing a teaching degree. She has the most amazing amount of patience.....and really enjoys teaching kids. She is such a great example to our lil sis Amanda.

Amanda Nicole (15) on the right is actually last on the "food chain" but she's in the picture so I'll go to her next. Amanda just began her first year in High School! (Freshman year) How fun...she is such an amazing person and loves Soccer! She is the littlest one out of all of us! But don't let that fool you...she can handle her own. She is a fun-loving very happy girl and really is so mature for her age!
Third is the only boy between the two fams, Sean Charles (17) He is one of the funniest kids I know! Right now he's in his last year of high school and isn't really looking forward to joining the real world yet. Though he thinks he knows everything, just by this picture you know he's in for a reality check soon!
Last is Julia Marie (15) She's actually turning 16 on Christmas Eve! She is one of those obsessed aunts and absolutely loves Carter. Because Utah has weird High School grades, she actually just began her first year of high school (sophmore year) and goes to Syracuse high. She has so much energy and is just a big kid herself!
All of my siblings are so different, yet share one thing in common....ME! I am very fortunate to have such a great combination of brothers and sisters.

The Last of The "Band Geek Siblings"

Last night Carter and I went to my little sister's Band Concert. She's the last of us that's actually playing an instrument now! I began the "band geek sibling group" in Junior high playing percussion, my brother continued the legacy playing a few different wind instruments and now it's all up to my lil' sis to continue on. She goes to Syracuse High School...and can I just tell you how nice that school is? Seriously....it has everything you'd need and is so nice inside and out!
Carter loved the "movie theater" style seats...
After the concert was over Carter was mezmorized by the big drums the percussion players had!
It was so much fun and right up our little man's alley! He LOVES music and everything that comes with it!

"Ghostly Craft Project" and Best Buddies...

My cute Mother-in-law, Margaret, bought my this adorable tree for Halloween, of course you know I had to do a craft project with it! (Funny, that's what Margaret thought of first though was me doing something "crafty" with Carter!)
Anyway, I'm proud to annouce that it went very well and turned out way cute!
All you need is popcicle sticks (or lollipops) tissues and tape! I used a paper clip to hang them as well.
Carter had a blast and it really was the easiest and cleanest project I've done!
I also wanted to mention how cute Carter and Timmy have been to eachother lately. At first Carter was this menace when it came to Timmy, but now they play, fight over toys and share snacks!
Here's a way cute pic of Carter trying to give him a kiss! And excited when he realized that Timmy's nose was wet!
My cute little boys! They've grown up together and have become such a good friends to eachother!

Halloween Activities!

This weekend was so much fun...and packed full of activities!
First, Scott and I went to an "adult" Halloween party while my mom watched Carter overnight for us. (Have I mentioned how nice my mom is to do that for us?) Well, the party was great. It was actually a bunch of Scott's friends that he grew up with and everyone had some really funny costumes!
Funny story about our costumes...well we were running on the last minute and needed to come up with costumes that were easy, quick and cheap......out came "Salt and Pepper!" SO funny, and seriously the easiest ever! We even won prizes for our costumes!!
Then today we went over to my mom's to pick up the little man and had some more fun there.....my mom LOVES little kids and crafts (I'm not sure where I get it from) and she wanted to decorate some "Halloween" cupcakes.....so this is Carter LOVING the table at his level FULL of candy!
We had a couple of her neighbors come over and we all made some really cute cupcakes!
After the cupcakes were done...the boys decided to play in the rocks! Of all the places to play! Silly boys. This weekend was so much fun and full of some great quality time for me and Scott.

Morris Look-alike Meter

I saw this on another blog and thought it was fun to see who Carter looked more like.
I've NEVER been todl that Carter looks like me......and Scott and I were just talking about who he looksl ike more the other day. In my baby pictures, you can totally see Carter....but right now I think he looks more like Scott...
Anyway, here is what the Look Alike Meter says....

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Geneology - Dynasty

If anyone wants to do this, click on the link and it walks you through the steps!

Pumpkin Patch and Carving!

A couple days ago we took Carter to my favorite little Farm....Day Farms in Syracuse. This is such a cute place with a huge selection of items to choose from and it's smaller so it's very easy to get what you want...
My family came with us...so Scott and I were able to get a family picture.
I just had to include this pic....what the heck are these things?
They have fruit and other veggies there too...Carter found a peach and bit right in!
Tonight Scott and I shared the "pumpkin carving experience" with Carter! Though neither Scott or myself is great at carving, to say the least, I think we got one cute one out of the three....
I'm sad to say, this is Scott's pumpkin! We had a Mini-Pumpkin Carving Contest of our own...and Scott definitely won!
Here's Carter....not really sure what we're going to do to the pumpkins...but was "game" for anything!
While Carter took his nap today, I gutted the pumpkins and separated the seeds, hopefully they toast up well and we can enjoy them tomorrow!

Big News!

Scott and I made the bitter-sweet decision last week to put our house on the market. Let me tell you how this all began....
One night I was bored and went on the MLS looking at homes for fun. I happen to stumble across this home that had everything we've wanted and was in our budget. Well, I happen to know the owner (we worked in the corporate office for Rumbi Island Grill for almost 2 years together) which I thought was a funny coincidence. There was an offer in on it at the time I called, so I just wrote it off and didn't look back.
We looked at three other homes and really didn't like any of them, then Scott and I decided that we probably wouldn't worry about moving any time soon then. Well, out of the blue the owner of the home I really liked called me, the offer fell through and he was willing to reduce the price even more for me.
Needless to say, Scott and I ran over the house to check it out and fell in love with it! It's everything we want and then some! We're just hoping everything will go through accordingly....
We have our house priced at $169,900 in hopes that it will sell quickly (It appraises for much more than that) so if anyone knows of someone who wants to buy a home.....we have one for sale!
Just in case we have over 2,100 square feet with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a 4 car garage! If you know of anyone....let me know!
It's a fun exprience to put your house on the market and look for something else, but it's also sad to see the for sale sign up in our front lawn. We've done so much to our home and really have fallen love with it, but it's the best time to "move up" in today's market so we're taking our chances!

Our Arizona Trip....

Scott and I took Carter down to Arizona to visit my family there for the weekend. We see them every other month so it's fun to have Carter grow up knowing all THREE sets of grandparents.
We did so many fun things....but I'm sure this was the HIGHLIGHT of the trip....Go CART RIDING! My dad has a couple go carts that are seriously a blast....though I have much more fun being the passenger than driving.
On the way to the desert trails, my 15 year old sister Amanda learned to drive my 19 year old sister's car! Becca looks a little worried about the lil sis behind the wheel....
Carter absolutely LOVED the go carts and didn't want to get out when his turn was up. This is me, my dad and Carter getting ready to go! (Scott drove us as well and Carter was so relaxed that he fell asleep for a little while!)
This picture is cute and funny at the same time...I was originally intending to blackmail my dad with this pic of him in the funky hat...but it actually turned out to be a cute one with him and Carter.
Later we went through a car wash and Carter loved it!
We had so much fun and the weekend seemed to fly by! But the plane ride was a dream...it gets easier and easier every time. Carter basically just watched the movie Cars and ate the million treats I brought with us.
Carter's very lucky to have such a wonderful family and grow up knowing everyone!

Update amd Picture Overload!

Last night we celebrated my cute nephew's First Birthday! Tanner is such a cute little boy....and man is he a chunk! :)
My cute sister-in-law made a Finding Nemo cake...she spent 2 hours on it and it turned out PERFECT!
This is Tanner wondering what to do...
Tanner was nice enough to let his big brother and cousin "help" with eating the fish cake!
This is the little man.....he is so photogenic and seriously poses for me! LOVE HIM!
I was going for a shot of him wearing the hat but he was way to interested in looking at it instead.
Carter and Hunter are at the age now that sharing is over-rated. And they only have to share one grandma....Grandma Morris. So therefore this is what the poor woman has to do when the boys are together.
Earlier this week, Annie and I tried to have a mini photo shoot with the three boys...here are my masterpieces.
Hunter Ray Morris
Tanner Scott Morris
Carter Scott Morris
The Morris Cousins....
Could this be any more precious?
Buddies....

We had so much fun with them while they were here. It's so sad to see them go, but we know time will fly and they'll be living back here in no time!

As for my update: Scott, Carter and I are going to Arizona to visit my dad and family there for the weekend. So I'll have plenty of pics to share when I come back. But we're just glad to get away from the cold for the weekend.

Snow Fun....Cookies!

Today it snowed! We seriously has almost 4 inches of snow in our front yard today! I knew the weather was getting cold....but SNOW seriously?
Well, Carter got a snow suit for his birthday yesterday....and we thought what perfect timing! So after nap time we got him geared up for the first snow experience of the year!
It looks like he's crying in this pic, but he really is laughing! He loved making the snow angel.
Here's our little man!
Scott decided it was time to show Carter the art of "Snowman-Making."
So cute....
Later to warm up, I thought it would be fun to bake and ice some sugar cookies. Here's little Carter getting in on the action. They turned out really cute. Smiths had this great mix of Halloween sprinkles...it even had tiny ghosts, pumpkins and bats!
It was such a fun day yesterday!
